Georgia High Court Bolsters Military Spouse Bar Admission

The denial of a Louisiana lawyer’s request for admission to the Georgia bar after her military spouse was transferred there was set aside by the Supreme Court of Georgia Sept. 10.

Military spouses may be able to “waive into” practice in Georgia and other jurisdictions, without having to meet all of the typical admission requirements. At least 31 states have adopted some form of military spouse licensing accommodations, according to the Military Spouse JD Network.
