Wake Up Call: Quinn Hired in Potential U.K. Suit Targeting KPMG Audit

  • Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan was hired by PwC and a U.K. bankruptcy liquidation agent to lead a lawsuit alleging that KPMG’s negligence in an audit contributed to an outsourcing company going bust, according to reports. PwC is special manager for liquidation of Carillion, which had 19,000 employees and major government contracts including one for the construction of a rail line when it collapsed early last year. KPMG was accused of mismanaging the company’s audit. KPMG and the other Big Four accounting giants are facing U.K. regulatory scrutiny and several lawsuits over their audits. (Financial Times)
