Akin Gump Lands Two Top Republican Advisors

Two former top Republican advisors have joined Akin Gump’s public law and policy practice in Washington, D.C.

Hunter Bates, former legal counsel and chief of staff to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), and Justin J. McCarthy, who served as a special assistant to the president for legislative affairs under George W. Bush, have joined the firm.

Both will work with congressional Republican leadership in Congress and advise clients on finance and revenue legislation.
