American Express Slapped With Telemarketing Lawsuit in Federal Court

American Express Co. faces a federal lawsuit filed today alleging that the credit card giant bombarded a Virginia man with unwanted robocalls.

Plaintiff Jacob Wilson claims that AmEx violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing unsolicited calls to his cellphone this month for someone named “Jessica.” Wilson, who is attempting to form a class-action lawsuit, is seeking $10 million in damages from the card issuer, according to the filing.
