Another Day at the Office: NYT Lawyer on Trump, Obama Administration and Libel

David McCraw, the top newsroom lawyer at The New York Times, said he hasn’t heard from Donald Trump’s lawyer after exchanging letters last week.

On Oct. 12, Trump’s lawyer Marc Kasowitz demanded a retraction of The Times story, “Two Women Say Donald Trump Touched Them Inappropriately.” Kasowitz said failing to retract the story would leave Trump “with no option but to pursue all available actions and remedies.”

But nine days have passed and McCraw said that no legal action has been taken, nor has he heard of any further demands. The last communication he had was a letter McCraw fired ...
