Attorneys Mobilize to Ensure Midterm Voters Know Rights

As polling places across the U.S. brace for potential record turnout for Tuesday’s midterms, attorneys from the biggest firms are working the phones to make sure voters know their rights.

More than 4,000 lawyers from nearly 100 law firms known as Big Law are participating in the election protection program led by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

Lawyers are fielding calls at 19 call centers nationwide via the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline. They’re answering questions on when polls close in their district, whether they need ID to vote, or where to vote if they’ve recently moved. Attorneys also ...
