Baker Botts, Kirkland Advise in BP Alaska Sale to Hilcorp

Baker Botts advised BP Plc on the planned $5.6 billion sale of its entire business in Alaska to Hilcorp Energy Co., which turned to Kirkland & Ellis for the deal.

The sale, pending regulatory approval, would end BP’s six-decade presence in the state and includes its interest in the Prudhoe Bay oil field and the Trans Alaska Pipeline System.

BP turned to Baker Botts energy partners Dan Mark and Craig Vogelsang along with tax partner Robert Phillpott. Finance partner Daniel Tristan and litigation partner Louie Layrisson also advised on the deal.
