Boardroom Lawyer On Board with Surfing in 2020 Olympics

In the 1991 film “Point Break,” Johnny Utah, Keanu Reeves’ character, is a law graduate who has a tough time blending into the surfing crowd of bank robbers he’s been assigned to spy on.

But not all lawyers are so awkward around surfers. The sport was recently added to the program of the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo, and some lawyers couldn’t be happier.

That is, if you speak to Jim J. Mittermiller, of counsel in the business trial practice group at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, who represents the International Surfing Association.
