Cigna’s U.S. Privacy Officer Joins Shipman & Goodwin (1)

Matthew Fitzsimmons, Cigna Corp’s former U.S. privacy officer and lead cybersecurity counsel, has joined Shipman & Goodwin in its state attorneys general and data privacy groups in Hartford.

Fitzsimmons formerly worked as an assistant attorney general in the Connecticut attorney general’s office. Two of his colleagues there, former Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen and former Chief Deputy Attorney General Perry Zinn Rowthorn, joined Shipman in February to launch the firm’s new state attorneys general practice group.

Fitzsimmons said he joined Shipman because the opportunity to work with Jepsen and Rowthorn again was too good to pass up.
