What sparks a law firm to want to provide legal services to the country’s burgeoning marijuana industry?

“It first starts from inquiries from clients,” said Gerald Greenspoon, co-managing partner of Greenspoon Marder which announced a “cannabis and hemp” practice group on Monday.

As two dozen states and counting legalized some form of marijuana use in recent years, Greenspoon said his Florida-based 180-attorney firm was flooded with calls from clients, including private equity funds and other investors, seeking advice in this area.
