Court Agrees to Fast Track English Appeal on CFPB Leadership

A federal appeals court will give fast-track treatment to a court battle over the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s leadership.

At issue is a bid by Leandra English, who says she’s the agency’s rightful acting director, to unseat White House budget director Mick Mulvaney, who has prevailed in two previous rulings in the case. English asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to consider her appeal on an expedited basis, saying the case raises urgent public policy questions.
