David Boies Representing Judge Posner’s Pro Bono Client at SCOTUS

David Boies has taken over as counsel of record for a pro se litigant at the U.S. Supreme Court from retired Seventh Circuit judge Richard Posner.

The client was the first that Posner took after retiring.

Boies, of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, is known for taking on high-profile clients, including representing Al Gore in Bush v. Gore and defending movie mogul Harvey Weinstein against a slew of sexual abuse allegations.

Posner agreed to represent William Bond last year in an appeal arguing that a federal district court shouldn’t have denied Bond’s attempt to amend his complaint without justification.
