Davis Polk Elects Neil Barr as New Managing Partner

Davis Polk has elected its former tax department leader, Neil Barr, as its new managing partner, the firm announced.

Barr led the firm’s tax department for the last five years. He focuses his practice on complex corporate transactions, with an emphasis on federal income tax matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, and joint ventures, according to a firm statement.

Barr, a 44-year-old Georgetown Law graduate, succeeds Thomas Reid in the managing partner post. He’s an officer of the American Bar Association’s corporate tax committee.
