Derivatives Regulator Picks Ex-Prosecutor to Serve as Top Cop

The head of Wall Street’s main derivatives regulator named a former federal prosecutor as the agency’s top cop to police complex financial crimes.

James McDonald, who until recently was an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, will be the enforcement chief for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said J. Christopher Giancarlo, the commission’s acting chairman and President Donald Trump’s pick for the permanent job.
