Ex-DOJ Veteran Alicia O’Brien Joins King & Spalding in D.C.

King & Spalding brought aboard former Justice Department veteran Alicia O’Brien as a partner in its government matters practice group in Washington.

The ex-Venable partner rejoins her old boss, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates. Yates joined the firm last year. She was fired by President Donald Trump for refusing to carry out the administration’s travel ban.

O’Brien was deputy assistant U.S. attorney general for legislative affairs and also associate deputy AG, serving under Yates.
