FCC Pauses Review of T-Mobile’s Sprint Merger

The Federal Communications Commission is pausing its review of T-Mobile US Inc.’s $26.5 billion purchase of Sprint Corp. because it needs more time to look at information, the agency said in a letter to the companies.

The companies’ newly submitted network engineering modeling that “is significantly and more complex” than previous engineering submissions is one of the issues, the FCC said in the Sept. 11 letter.

The agency also needs more time to review a model detailing T-Mobile’s “financial basis for the projected new network buildout.”
