GC of Company that Produced “Spotlight” on Why He Left O’Melveny

It’s been a good year for Participant Media. In February, the production company’s film “Spotlight” won an Academy Award for Best Picture. It was the first film backed by Participant to win the award.

It’s also been a good year for Gabriel Brakin, the company’s first in-house attorney, who was hired back in 2008. In March, Participant named Brakin executive vice president of business affairs and general counsel. Brakin is the first GC in the company’s 12-year history.
