Margrethe Vestager finally did something unpopular with consumers and environmentalists.

Lauded as a modern hero by consumer groups for fining Google billions of euros and demanding Apple Inc. cough up some 13 billion euros ($16 billion) in back taxes, Vestager has rarely put a foot wrong in more than three years as the European Union’s powerful antitrust enforcer.
