Greenberg Traurig Ends Merger Talks with London Law Firm

In February, Greenberg Traurig announced that it was in early discussions with the London-based law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner to possibly create a global firm with more than 2,500 lawyers.

Those talks, however, are off, Greenberg Traurig’s executive chair Richard Rosenbaum said in a statement on Wednesday.

It’s unclear what the final deal would have looked like, but at the time the talks were announced, Greenberg had 1,950 lawyers in 38 offices, while Berwin Leighton had 800 in 12 international offices.
