Group of Eight Depart Liner Prior to DLA Piper Merger

Kirk Pasich, who represents motion picture studios, television networks and others in disputes with insurance companies, has departed the Liner law firm to launch Pasich LLP, taking seven partners and one associate with him.

The departure comes approximately two weeks after Liner announced plans to merge into DLA Piper and the departure had been predicted by at least one person in the know: Pasich and his group sue insurance companies, a practice known as insurance recovery, which often conflicts with other practices at large firms.
