Has Technology Helped the Rise of the Law Boutique?

This week, we wrote about three groups of lawyers that broke off from Big Law to launch their own firms.

We asked them a simple question: Has technology reduced the cost of starting and running a law firm, and thus lowered the barrier to entry ?

Their answer: Yes, for the most part — with the caveat that some technology such as the cloud poses a perceived risk to clients.
