The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation that would create a licensing process for streaming services such as Spotify, in a move to update copyright law for the modern music industry.
The House approved the the Music Modernization Act (H.R. 5447) by a vote of 415-0. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Robert W. Goodlatte (R-Va.) assembled the legislation from three separate bills.
