JetBlue Chooses New Leader to Pilot Legal Team

JetBlue appointed Brandon Nelson as general counsel and corporate secretary, the company announced Nov. 13.

Nelson, who joined the airline in 2005 and was serving as its acting general counsel, will oversee its legal, ethics and compliance, cybersecurity, and environmental, social and governance efforts.

Nelson steps in after the retirement of former JetBlue GC James Hnat, who left the company over the summer.

The new general counsel started at the company in 2005 after working as a litigator at several firms, including Shearman & Sterling. He was later promoted to associate general counsel.
