Nicholas Ranjan, a K&L Gates partner, was one of three Donald Trump nominees confirmed July 10 to district court seats.
Ranjan, Damon Leichty, a partner at Barnes & Thornburg, and T. Kent Wetherell II, a judge on Florida’s First District Court of Appeal, easily cleared the Republican-led U.S. Senate with Democratic support.
Ranjan, who’s headed to the Western District of Pennsylvania, has been a commercial litigator representing clients in energy, oil and gas, arbitration, class action defense, and appellate litigation. He also served as a pro bono coordinator and chairman of the diversity committee for the Pittsburgh office.
