Kirkland Hires Irell & Manella’s Former Managing Partner (1)

Kirkland & Ellis has hired Ellisen Turner, the former managing partner of Irell & Manella, as an intellectual property partner in Los Angeles.

Turner is the second former managing partner to leave Irell this year. David Gindler, who succeeded Turner in the role in January, joined Milbank in August. Irell has struggled with departures that have winnowed its headcount to roughly 90 lawyers from around 160 as little as five years ago, according to AmLaw rankings.
