Kirkland & Ellis is bringing onboard a pair of private equity partners from Weil Gotshal & Manges, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

New York-based partners Michael Weisser and Sarah Stasny will have their going-away drinks this evening in midtown Manhattan, according to a firm email provided by one of the sources and reviewed by Big Law Business.

The two lawyers represent private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in acquisitions, financing, restructurings and corporate matters, according to their online biographies.

They also shared work advising Atlas Partners in its acquisitions of St. George’s University and Capital Vision Services, LP. Clients have included Guggenheim Partners, American Securities, Avista Capital Partners, EQT Partners, The Jordan Company, among others.

In 2010, Weisser was mentioned in The AmLaw Daily as “Dealmaker of the Week.”

At the time, he advised Bresnan Communications in its $1.36 billion acquisition by Cablevision and within the following 48 hours advised chicken-nugget maker Keystone Foods, when it agreed to be acquired by Sao Paolo-based Marfrig Alimentos for $1.26 billion.

Spokespeople for both firms did not respond to requests for comment. Neither did Weisser or Stasny.
