Kirkland, Other Firms Targeted in Ads Over Kavanaugh Appearance

A progressive advocacy group launched an ad campaign targeting employees at Kirkland & Ellis, Gibson Dunn, Kasowitz Benson & Torres, and other law firms who it said helped sponsor a dinner where conservatives sought to further their effort to “rehabilitate” Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s image.

Demand Justice also directed the digital ad campaign Dec. 2 at employees of Consovoy McCarthy, Sullivan & Cromwell, and WilmerHale. The contributors were “Gold Circle” sponsors of the Federalist Society’s annual dinner last month in Washington where Kavanaugh was the keynote speaker, Demand Justice said in a press release.
