Los Angeles-based entertainment law firm Eisner PC is adding two litigators from Blank Rome and expanding to New York, the firm said today.
Leslie Corwin and Simon Miller will join the firm representing media and entertainment companies, including legal matters for stars like Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Tyler Perry. The firm handles litigation and transaction services.
Michael Eisner, who chairs the firm, said it had been “actively serving clients for years in New York,” and that opening an office was “a natural step” in its evolution.
The addition of Corwin and Miller bring “immediate and additional credibility to our presence in New York and offer an ideal complement to our existing litigation practice.”
Corwin has experience handling ownership disputes in law and accounting firms. One of his clients was Heller Ehrman, which had more than 700 lawyers in 15 offices internationally before it was dissolved.
Corwin and Miller also have handled a variety of financial services providers, real estate developers, and professional services firms.
“We hope to attract more media and entertainment companies, law firms, investment firms, REITs, banks and ultra high net worth individuals and family offices in New York,” Eisner said in a phone interview.
Also working in the New York office will be current Eisner partners Doreen Small and Ali Grace Marquart.
Small is a former general counsel of Ford Models Inc. and senior intellectual property counsel to NBC, where her clients included Saturday Night Live.
Marquart is a former director of business and legal affairs for Wilhelmina Models, one of the world’s most influential model management companies.
Corwin, who will be managing partner of Eisner’s New York office, earlier worked for Greenberg Traurig. He is an expert in law firm partnership agreements.
