It’s been said that a person who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client. Stephen DiCarmine, a former executive of the bankrupt law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, wants to test that old maxim.
Despite having never sat through a criminal trial except his own, let alone tried one himself, DiCarmine, who graduated from law school more than 30 years ago, told a judge that he wants to represent himself in his upcoming court case.
