Lawyer Sanctioned for Consensual Sex With Client

A lawyer’s license was suspended by the Ohio Supreme Oct. 18 for having consensual sex with a client and violating other rules of professional conduct.

The suspension will last two years, with six months stayed if Trent Turner completes conditions stipulated in the order, the per curiam opinion said.

Turner stipulated to having an inappropriate sexual relationship with Jane Doe, not diligently pursuing her case, plagiarizing the document he did file in it, and failing to properly maintain his trust account.

Turner cooperated with the investigation conducted by the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct and presented positive character evidence. The ...
