The field of legal operations has experienced “enormous growth” over the past decade, but figuring out how to measure success remains a challenge, according to Reese Arrowsmith, vice president and head of legal operations for Campbell Soup Co.
In a previous role as a consultant, Arrowsmith looked at a bloc of similar legal work being done for a client by several different law firms and examining the minimum, maximum and average; outside counsel spend; settlement cost; and total case cost by firm and geography.
