Longtime Legal Consultant Dies at 69

Ward Bower, a law firm consultant based in Philadelphia who studied the business of law, has died from a heart attack. He was 69.

His death, which occurred Saturday, was announced in a statement on Monday by the consultancy Altman Weil, where he had worked since 1975.

Bower advised leaders of the AmLaw 100 and 200 and also smaller law firms on everything from strategic planning, to mergers and acquisitions. In an obituary, the Philadelphia Intelligencer described him as “straight-shooting yet warm-hearted.”
