Lyft Drivers Can’t Recover Damages for Uber’s ‘Hell’ Surveillance

A proposed class of Lyft Inc. drivers are unable to recover alleged lost profits or prevent Uber Technologies Inc. from using “Hell” spyware to surveil competitors, a federal magistrate judge ruled.

The proposed class can’t get money because the drivers didn’t lose profits due to the alleged surveillance, U.S. Magistrate Judge Jacqueline S. Corley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled June 21.
