Minnesota Pays Out $710K to Settle Harassment Claims

Minnesota has paid out nearly $710,000 to resolve seven complaints of sexual harassment at state agencies since 2015, settlement data released Jan. 26 by the Minnesota Management and Budget revealed.

The settlement data were released concurrently with a major report examining Minnesota’s responsiveness to sexual harassment, which revealed 266 total complaints from 23 cabinet-level agencies over six years. Of that total, 135 claims were substantiated and triggered some type of corrective action, including training, suspension, oral or written reprimands, demotion, and/or discharge.
