Morgan Lewis, Milbank Help Immigrants as Border Tensions Grow

Two Morgan Lewis attorneys will appear in an El Paso, Texas, immigration court on Tuesday to help a detained Guatemalan woman separated from her 9-year-old daughter since May with her asylum claim.

This is one of five families the law firm sought to reunite after they were separated from one another upon entering the U.S. from Mexico illegally.

The Trump administration began separating families illegally crossing the border with asylum claims in October 2017, and thousands of children were taken from their parents in the process.
