New York law firm Mintz & Gold has established a practice group defending accounting firms and their employees in civil lawsuits, regulatory agency investigations, and professional disciplinary actions.
The accountants’ liability practice, to be headed by attorney Richard Breslow, was launched in response to client demand, the firm said in a Sept. 10 announcement.
- Breslow has 30-plus years of experience advising and defending accounting firms, including more than 25 years in the general counsel’s office of two Big Four firms, most recently KPMG, the announcement said.
- This year Mintz & Gold added four partners in the areas of white collar criminal defense and investigations, bankruptcy and restructuring and media, intellectual property, and freedom of information laws.
