No-Shows Up for Calif. Bar Exam as Leak Controversy Swirls

More people than usual failed to show up for the California bar exam following a leak of what topics would be covered.

Some 768 people failed to attend the combination multiple choice and essay exam on July 31-Aug. 1, up from 608 last July and 652 in July 2017, bar spokeswoman Teresa Ruano said.

Those figures translated into a preliminary 8% no-show rate, compared to 6.6% in July 2017 and July 2018, Ruano said.
