Paul Hastings is bringing aboard a three-partner private equity team from Hogan Lovells.
Ed Harris, who has been leading Hogan Lovells’ private equity practice in London, and Leanne Moezi will join as partners in London. Adam Brown, currently a partner in Northern Virginia, will join the firm in its Washington office.
“We’re continuing to grow our market-leading private equity practice, expanding the firm’s ability to help clients navigate increasingly complex global transactions,” said Seth Zachary, chair of Paul Hastings.
The addition of Hogan Lovells trio brings to the total to seven partner hires for Paul Hastings’ private equity practice since May 2018.
The private equity practice advised on more than 150 deals globally last year, and more than 400 private equity sponsor financing transactions in the past four years.
Among the London office clients in the past year have been Abry Partners, Oakley Capital, Francisco Partners, Astorg and Vector Capital, on deals with a total transaction value exceeding $8.5 billion.
Paul Hastings said its London office has doubled in size and revenue in the past five years.
“The focus that Paul Hastings has to grow its corporate, funds, and private equity practices in London is impressive,” Harris said in a statement. “I found the firm and practices’ trajectory, together with the entrepreneurial spirit and excitement for the future at Paul Hastings, incredibly attractive.”
Harris advises on a range of corporate transactions, with a focus on private M&A, joint ventures, co-investments and leveraged buyouts.
Brown focuses on securities and investment transactions for private equity funds and their portfolio companies.
Moezi advises on all aspects of corporate finance, M&A and private equity deal work.
