Personnel Changes at IP Law Firms, Organizations

The following are personnel changes and other news recently announced by prominent intellectual property law firms and other IP-related organizations:

• Patent litigator Rachel Weiner Cohen has left Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP to join Latham & Watkins LLP, Washington, as counsel in the firm’s litigation and trial department and member of its intellectual property litigation practice.

• Duane Morris LLP has named IP litigator Manita Rawat managing partner of its office in Palo Alto, Calif. Rawat succeeds Karineh Khachatourian, a partner at the firm.

• Julie V. Pinette has left Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder PC to join Diserio Martin O’Connor & Castiglioni LLP, Boston, as an associate in the firm’s litigation and intellectual property practice groups.

• IP attorney Guy Birkenmeier has left Baker & McKenzie to join Foley & Lardner LLP, Dallas, as a partner in the firm’s technology transactions and outsourcing practice.

• Dickinson Wright PLLC named K. Lance Anderson the practice group chair for the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology group in its intellectual property division. Anderson is a member partner in the firm’s Austin, Texas, office.

• Patent attorney Charles Yang and IP attorney John Yang have left FisherBroyles LLP to join LeClairRyan, Sacramento, Calif., as partners in the firm’s intellectual property practice.

• Food and drug law attorney Jean W. Frydman, previously at Fox Rothschild LLP, has joined Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC, Baltimore, as of counsel in the firm’s intellectual property group.

• Patent and trademark attorneys Stephen O’Brien and Christopher Wilkinsonhave been promoted to partners at IP law firm Madderns, Adelaide, Australia.

• Commercial litigator and IP attorney Ryan G. Rich has been promoted to counsel at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, Charlotte, N.C.

• IP litigator Michael Hendershot has left Paul Hastings LLP to join Jones Day, Palo Alto, Calif., as a partner in the firm’s intellectual property practice.

• Kent L. Baker has left Setter Roche LLP to join Fishman Stewart PLLC, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., as an of counsel patent attorney.
