Q2 OCC Enforcement Action Starts Slowly

So far, the OCC has issued two actions in Q2 of 2018, after issuing 15 in Q1. None of these actions have involved savings and loan associations. Compared to 2017 (Q1 saw 24 actions, Q2 saw 13), 2018 is currently on pace to be a slower year for OCC enforcement than the previous year. Quyen Trong, a partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, told Bloomberg Law that the current trend of issuing fewer enforcement actions with higher penalties indicates an “intent to focus increasingly on only cases that raise major concerns.”
