Quinn Emanuel Snags Former Aide to SEC Chair White

A top adviser to former SEC Chairman Mary Jo White moved to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP after a decade at the agency, the law firm said June 13.

Michael Liftik, who was a deputy chief of staff under White, joined the firm as a partner in its Washington office. He will work on matters related to government investigations, securities litigation, and cybersecurity, among other issues.

Most recently, Liftik was acting chief of the Complex Financial Instruments Unit in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division. He assumed that role in January after serving as deputy chief of staff ...
