Retired Judge Posner Loses Fight for Pro Bono Client

Seventh Circuit Judge Richard Posner’s first pro bono client lost his case in the Fourth Circuit Aug. 2. The court also shot down Posner’s request for oral argument.

Posner agreed to represent William Bond last year, in an appeal arguing that a federal district court shouldn’t have denied Bond’s attempt to amend his complaint without justification.

Bond’s appeal doesn’t have any merit, the per curiam court said in its unpublished opinion.
