It’s not like the Manhattan law firm Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz is desperate to bring in more clients. After all, its average profits per partner was $6.6 million in 2015 , the highest of any law firm in history.
But Monday nevertheless came with a press release bringing news of new and lucrative business.
GNC Holdings, the vitamins and health supplement chain, announced that it hired Wachtell along with Goldman Sachs in conducting a strategic and financial review “to increase shareholder value,” a plan that includes a potential sale of the company.
