Samsung Can’t Curb Exploding Cell Phone Class

•Samsung loses bid to send all exploding cell phone class claims to arbitration •Court examines particulars of arbitration notices

Samsung will have to defend in court class action claims that its cell phones pose a risk of exploding.

Though the claims of several plaintiffs are subject to arbitration clauses and require dismissal, the claims of nine named plaintiffs may go forward, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled.
