Schneiderman: From Advocate to Potential Defendant

Abuse allegations leveled by several women against Eric Schneiderman not only prompted his resignation as New York State attorney general but potentially could lead to criminal charges against him, criminal defense attorneys and former prosecutors told Bloomberg Law.

The claims outlined May 7 in The New Yorker prompted Governor Andrew Cuomo to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the rising Democratic political figure and ex-lawman whose public stances against sexual harassment and assault made the claims even more outrageous.
