Trump, Justices Honor Stevens at High Court Ceremony (1)

Several Supreme Court justices, bow tie-clad family members, and dozens of former clerks assembled briefly in the Great Hall July 22 to honor longtime Justice John Paul Stevens, who passed away July 16 at the age of 99.

“For generations to come, people will celebrate his judicial virtues and aspire to those virtues as well,” Justice Elena Kagan said at the ceremony. Kagan, who replaced Stevens when he retired in 2010, called him one of her heroes.
