Supreme Court Won’t Hear Juvenile’s 241-Year Sentence Appeal

A man challenging the 241-year sentence he received as a juvenile got turned away by the U.S. Supreme Court today.

The judge who imposed the sentence has since said she “deeply” regrets having done so.

Bobby Bostic, convicted of kidnapping and other crimes at age 16, argues his sentence is, in reality, no different than life without parole. The high court previously said such a sentence can’t be given to a juvenile for a non-homicide crime.

He won’t be eligible for parole until he’s 112, according to his petition seeking review.
