Women made headlines in this year’s midterms, winning more than 100 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, as that chamber flipped to Democratic control. But another group was amply represented in the elections: law professors.

Current and former law school professors shook hands and made stump speeches all over the country, defying the stereotype of the reclusive academic. Here are just some of the notables who ventured into the political fray.
