Trump Appeals Nominee Duncan Advances to Confirmation Vote

President Donald Trump could soon see a 15th circuit court nominee confirmed after the U.S. Senate agreed April 23 to advance Kyle Duncan’s appointment to a final vote.

Lawmakers ended debate and set the stage for final consideration as early as April 25. The tally to invoke cloture was 50-44, reflecting party line divisions in the Republican-led Senate. GOP members cite his conservative bonafides, while Democrats accuse him of opposing civil rights.
