Two Freshfields Partners on Why They Left Kirkland & Ellis

When Ward McKimm departed Kirkland & Ellis’ London office last May for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, he left a key member of his team behind. This week, they reunited.

On Monday, former Kirkland partner Andrew Hagan announced he is joining McKimm, who took many of his clients with him to Freshfields last year, and is now the Co-Head of the firm’s European Leveraged Finance team.

“The attractive thing about Freshfields is the extensive European network,” said Hagan. “If you look at what are the essential ingredients for having a successful high yield business, all those building blocks to life are already here.”
